Day 1: Marrakech - Tizi N'tichka Pass - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Kelaa M'gouna - Boumalne Dades - Merzouga Desert
Our 2 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga begins at your Marrakech riad or hotel. You will be picked up by a local driver from See Around Morocco, a well-known Moroccan travel business, and will journey across the high Atlas Mountains.
We departure to Ait Benhaddou over the mountains of high Atlas passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude), visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and stop for lunch in a local restaurant. We will drive to Ouarzazate and stop near the atlas film studios for a photo then continue to the city center for a panoramic view of the kasbah of Taourirt. After that you will head to Kalaa M’gouna and Dades, then we drive towards Tineghir and Todra gorges.
Arrival to Todra Gorges to enjoy its marvelous Canyons. We continue to Tinejdad and have a break for lunch then to Erfoud where you will visit a local fossil craft workshop. We will continue to Merzouga Dunes , we get ready for a camel trek for an hour and half to enjoy the sunset. While on the back of your dromedary, you will continue to the camp for an overnight in traditional nomad tent. Dinner and spend the night in a bivouac in the middle of the dunes.
Day 2: Merzouga - Erfoud - Errachidia - Midelt - Azrou - Ifrane – Fes
This is the second day of the 2 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga so After an early wake up to enjoy an amazing sunrise camel trek over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast we depart on a scenic drive to Fes crossing the Ziz Vlley through Midelt where we will have lunch.
We keep driving across the Middle Atlas Mountians with its Cedar Forests and Berber towns of Imouzzar and Ifran, which are both famous as winter ski resorts for Moroccans. We arrive at Fes late in the afternoon. Your Morocco desert tour from Marrakech to Fes will end with a drop off at your Fes hotel or riad.
